As we conclude the 2024 gravel race season and look to 2025, we're reflecting on where the gravel racing scene is at. My first gravel race ever was Heck of the North. I had just started The Nxrth and was a regular bikepacker and sought out gravel rides but never participated in an event. I remember the energy and ruggedness of my first Heck as I took at least 25 miles just to figure out what pace group to ride with.
